South African-Style MannaBrew “Coffee” Recipe

Servings: 2 cups
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Brew Time: 5–10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 4 heaped teaspoons MannaBrew grounds (or 1 MannaBrew sachets)
  • 2 cups water
  • ½ cup full-cream milk (or oat/almond milk for dairy-free)
  • 1 cinnamon stick (or ¼ tsp ground cinnamon)
  • 1–2 teaspoons brown sugar or raw honey (adjust to taste)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Brewing Method:

  1. Boil the water in a small pot or kettle.
  2. Add MannaBrew to a French press, plunger, or small pot. Pour over the boiling water.
  3. Let it steep for 5–10 minutes (the longer it steeps, the richer the flavor). If using a pot, gently simmer for 5 minutes and strain.
  4. While it brews, heat the milk in a separate saucepan with the cinnamon stick. Stir gently and remove from heat just before boiling.
  5. Remove the cinnamon stick, then stir in sugar (or honey), vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt into the milk.
  6. Pour the brewed MannaBrew into your favorite mugs, filling each halfway.
  7. Top up with spiced milk mixture and stir gently.
